Wednesday March 21, 2018 is World Down Syndrome Day!
World Down Syndrome Day is a day set aside to raise awareness and educate the general public about Down Syndrome and to raise public awareness and be part of the global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion, and well being of people with Down syndrome.
There are things you can do to learn about Down Syndrome and raise awareness too. Wednesday, March 21 you can show your support by wearing brightly colored socks to signify the extra chromosome that people with Down Syndrome usually carry.
Through our campaign you can actually make three times the difference!
- Spread the Word! While at school or your workplace Wednesday, March 21 you can wear colorful socks and paint your nails blue and yellow in support of raising awareness.
- Provide Funds! $9 of every pack of socks sold will go to fund the mission of the National Association for Down Syndrome to provide programs and support to individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the professionals who serve them, and to create awareness in the community through advocacy, education and medical outreach.
- Provide Warm Socks! For every pack purchased, 1 pair of warm socks will be provided to people who need them most across the country.
