Kevin

Kevin Ryan, a 47-year-old citizen of the south suburbs, is one busy man! His week starts out with him ushering at St. Lawrence OÕToole Church in Matteson, Illinois. On Tuesday and Thursday mornings he and 30 other SouthStar clients take courses at Prairie State College. Kevin takes math and computer classes. He caps off his busy week as a teacherÕs aide during the school year working with 2 & 3 year old students at Good Shepherd Center. This is a program for challenged youngsters and Kevin has worked there for 20 years. During the summer, when school is not in session, he volunteers on Fridays for a fund raising bingo for SouthStar. When he is not engaged with the above activities he works at SouthStar making money for what he calls a "rainy day".

Kevin really enjoys movies, coming home to see his folks, and living with the four other residents of his group home who also have Down syndrome.s
