Jump for Joy is Evanston Dance Ensemble’s outreach program for children with disabilities.  The classes give young people with disabilities the chance to “experience the benefits of movement, music, self-expression and performance” and will continue to combine dance instruction and creative movement.

The program offers a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio of dancer/mentors to Jump for Joy students, so it is able to adapt to a wide range of needs.  It is currently targeting ages 5-18 and will offer one class for younger kids and one for older.

Senior members of the Evanston Dance Ensemble will be leading the classes: Anna Mondschean, Izzy Miller, and Georgia Patterson. They have all mentored for Jump for Joy for the past 3-4 years.

Classes will be held at:

Dance Center Evanston
1934 Dempster St. Evanston, IL 60202
Sundays, April 9- May 21
1:30-2:15 or 2:15-3:00

We will finish the session on May 21st, with an informal showcase of dance pieces by the Jump for Joy students and other dancers.

For more information about the project or to register, call the office at 847.328.6683 or see the Evanston Dance Ensemble website.
