Annual Bowl-A-Thon: Join Us!

Come join us in supporting our 27th Annual Bowl-A-Thon. This major fundraising event supports NADS programs for children and adults with Down syndrome. We encourage all NADS members to help make this year’s event a huge success. All are welcome!

Before the Bowl-A-Thon

Each individual bowler must register by midnight on February 22, 2011. Register online at www.firstgiving.com/nads or complete and mail the registration form.
Only registered bowlers will be assigned to a bowling lane.
If you are bowling with others, please list their names on the registration form.
Bowlers participating on a team should include team name or other bowlers.
Children can register individually or bowl as a partner with a registered bowler. If children are bowling as individuals they must register.
There are a small number of bumper lanes available, but they are restricted to be used by children only. For safety reasons the bowling alley does not permit adults to bowl on bumper lanes.
Information on the registration form is used for lane assignments and door prize drawings.

Collecting Pledges

Since this is a fundraising event bowlers are encouraged to raise as much money as possible, a minimum of $100 is required by each bowler. Teams will be required to have a minimum of $100 for each bowler on their team.

Encourage family and friends to visit your online fundraising page to make pledges.
Use pledge sheets to collect pledges.
Bowlers may obtain straight dollar amounts or per pin pledges.
To help collect pledges, try sending out
letters and a photo to family, friends, doctors, dentists, etc.
Check with your employer about a matching gift program.
Turn in pledges the day of the Bowl-A-Thon.
Checks should be made out to NADS.
Pledges not turned in at the Bow-A-Thon should be sent to: NADS, PO Box 206, Wilmette, IL 60091.
Prizes will be awarded for the most money turned in by
April, 2011

Day of the Bowl-A-Thon

Registration begins at 11:00 AM. Bowling will start at 12:00 noon.
Each individual bowler will need a pledge sheet with a minimum $100 in pledges and any money they have already collected.
Door prizes are for registered bowlers. Priority will be given to bowlers with the highest amounts pledged.
Lane assignments will be given at registration.
Registered bowlers will bowl three games.
Shoe rental is FREE.
Restaurant opens at 11:00 AM.
Raffle winners will be announced at approximately 2:15 PM

Raffle Prizes

Help make this event a success by donating a prize or contacting businesses for prizes. Please contact NADS at 630-325-9112 if you, a family member or friend is able to donate tickets for sporting events, merchandise or restaurant gift certificates, electronics, hotel packages, theater tickets, etc. NADS will publicize the donation on the day of the event, in the NADS newsletters, and on our website. Members are encouraged to patronize businesses that support us.

Lane and Event Sponsorship

Any employer, business, or group is invited to become a Lane or Event Sponsor for the Bowl-A-Thon. Lane and Event Sponsors’ names will be displayed at the Bowl-A-Thon and publicized in the NADS newsletter and on our website. Members are encouraged to patronize businesses that support us.
